Situation

AHS was engaged to provide Quality Control and Site-Specific Safety Officer services on a NAVFAC project. The work was a $38,000,000 remodel of the Kamish medical facility, a 30,000 sq ft medical clinic. Period of performance: May 2019 through September 2021. The medical facility had to remain in service throughout construction, with clinical operations continuing in occupied portions of the building while remodel work proceeded.

Intervention

AHS embedded experienced quality and safety professionals to navigate the complexities of an active facility.

  • Provided Quality control across the remodel scope, with documentation discipline supporting NAVFAC review.
  • Maintained a Site-Specific Safety Officer presence on a live medical facility, conducting daily safety briefings, hazard analyses, and active-facility coordination.
  • Ensured continuous coordination with hospital staff, managing dust and noise mitigation to keep clinical operations safe and uninterrupted.

Outcome

The Kamish medical facility remodel was successfully executed without impacting daily hospital operations. AHS successfully navigated the active-facility constraints, keeping workers and patients safe. A more detailed engagement summary and contracting officer reference are available on request through the AHS capability statement.
